With international travel restrictions still in place, Tmall Global has become a key platform for Chinese consumers to satisfy their overseas shopping needs. This year’s 6.18 features more than 29,000 overseas brands, including close to 2,000 first-time participants, and offers approximately 400,000 new imported products. Purchases of imported wines and pet-health products increased 2,000% YoY in the first 12 hours of the festival. Imported home aromatherapy products, meanwhile, increased 135% YoY.
To meet the high demand for imported goods during 6.18, Tmall Global has joined forces with Cainiao Network to roll out end-to-end solutions for overseas sellers that cover everything from shipping and customs clearance to warehousing and domestic delivery. In the lead-up to this year’s 6.18, overseas sellers ramped up their inventory of cosmetics, healthcare products, and mother and baby items stored in Cainiao Network’s bonded warehouses across the country.
